There may be a few frontispiece pages missing from this book, for there is no copyright date shown. Robinson Crusoe was printed and reprinted many times. The spine of this book says Avon Edition.
inside front cover: a sticker at upper left gives directions: “Read and return to” (this part in  handwritten script) “W.R. Jones, M.D. Bicknell, Ind.: (in print type)
page facing inside front cover: decorative signature by W R Jones above table of numbers of 13 squares across and 13 squares down, like  a pool to guess score of a game. Is 13 significant?
inside back cover: In script: “Zada Evangeline, John Alden, Alden, John David Bicknell Alden”, in handwritten printed letters “Alden”, Oct 19, 1913.
It might be that this book was originally that of W.R. Jones but sometime after 1905 when he died it came to Zada. Was she Zada Evangeline and was her John’s middle name Alden? Is there something pertinent in the date Oct 19, 1913? Purdy clan interested?
